Elizabeth Davidson-Blythe & Daniel Quayle

About

Inspired by both synth rock and the traditional music of the Isle of Man, Aile is a unique and exciting collaboration between Boston-born fiddler Elizabeth Davidson-Blythe and Manx bouzouki player Daniel Quayle. Instead of limiting themselves to their respective instruments, both musicians also play synths live on-stage with their feet, allowing them to create a massive sound nobody expects.

Currently in their fifth year and with a long-awaited second album on the way, Aile continues to stretch the boundaries of Manx traditional music, bringing in new sounds, fresh melodies and unexpected twists while always respecting the traditions from which their music comes. From their blues inspired collaboration on Ursa Major with electric guitarist Davy Knowles (Band of Friends, Back Door Slam) to the noughties-pop inspired Birnam Oak featuring John Joe Kelly's (Flook) bodhrán, each track brings in new audiences and loyalty from fans across several continents.
